Along with the hanfu from my last post, I also picked up this Qianmu dress from lolitainside!
You know...to make the shipment worthwhile, haha.
A long time ago, I used to be really into both gyaru and lolita fashion. As the years went by I ended up drifting away from the convention scene which also led me to just admiring fashions from afar. Always loving them but no longer having the courage to wear them.
Recently I've been wanting to get back into it but my body type has completely changed from before so I had to find out which style of dress would suit me again.
I didn't want to get a dress that was too pricey (at the time of me posting, this dress was under $50!!!) and there's so many different brands and styles now that I didn't know where to start.
So, I went for something that I felt was safe!
A while ago I made a pink and black witch hat and wanted to find something to potentially match it so my hunt for a pink and black dress was on!
That led me to spending hours (okay maybe not hoursss) scouring lolitainside for something that I thought would fit. I could have gone with an all black dress but really wanted some pink accents.
In walked this dress. Simple! Cute! The right colors?
I don't own any blouses that still fit so I thought this would be a better option then a jsk. Would it fit my body type? I sure hoped so!
After receiving it I could immediately tell that this was that exact dress. Not an imitation or replica. The exact one. You never know online!

I'll be 100 with you guys. One of the reasons why I stopped cosplaying and wearing jfashion was because I had gained weight and no longer knew how to shop for myself. I've since lost a decent amount of weight and, once again, no longer know how to shop for myself!
I second guess my sizes and tend to go for the larger sizes now "just to be sure". Asian sizing doesn't really help, haha.
I picked up the large and I probably could have gotten away with a medium. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS WITH SIZING!
The dress itself is made incredibly well with really soft fabric and I'm able to pull it on easily. (I couldn't find a zipper so thank goodness for the shirring and stretch in this dress!) There was zero smell or itchiness from the fabric and it has a nice weight to it as well.
One of the things I really like about this dress is you can wear the sleeves in TWO ways. All the way up and also off the shoulder. Both are super comfortable and look "correct".
I really like the little neck tie piece also~ Adds a little somthin somthin
This dress also doesn't even need a petticoat. It's so full and fluffy on its own. I did try it on with a petticoat just to see and it felt HUGE. The quality of the fabric really helps with the shape and fullness because I feel like a lower quality fabric would lay flatter?
My only negative about this dress is the bust/top. The model's tend to have a smaller bust and possibly shorter torso because the top part where you'd assume the bust would be actually sits on and above my bust. Because of that the waistline also hits a bit above my natural waist.
You can't really tell in pictures though!?
Like this, haha.
I know these dresses are supposed to be more modest so I'm not angry at the fact that my bust doesn't fit perfectly because, if it did I'd imagine it would be a trip to cleavage town?
Just a small lesson learned that perhaps I should choose dresses with a drop waist and maybe not a defined bust line.
TLDR: Really well made dress that's exactly like the picture. Skirt is full and voluminous on its own and the dress has stretch to it around the top because of shirring. Slight warning if you have a fuller bust.
Dress is under $50 and is basically the complete outfit.
(Plot twist if you still remember why I got this dress, the pinks didn't match. LOL The pink of the hat is a really bright cool toned pink and the pink on this dress was obviously not that.)
