Ruby Kisses Haul + Nyx

Ello Lovelies~

So, I had a photoshoot scheduled this sunday and I had NO LASHES.
Of course I had to go out and buy some~

I went to a beauty store that's pretty close to my house called "Coco". Apparently they have a sister one called "Roxy" lol. Anyways, while I was there, I had to buy a little bit more. I lvoe beauty supply stores because they always tend to have brands that I've never heard of and I'm a collector so I enjoy buying make-up. xD

Anyways~ On to what I bought~

Here's an overview of everything I got~ (Reviews and swatches to come!)

Alrighty~ So the first item is this one!

Ruby Kisses Ultra Brilliant Colors Eyeshadow in

Black and White Cookie.

I've been looking for a really good deep matte black eyeshadow so I thought i would pick it up.

From the ouside, the white seems to have a fine shimmer in it while the black is a very flat matte color.

This was 2.99 so, if it's bad, i only lost around $3. 

Ruby Kisses HD setn'forget setting powder.

There's 4 shades that this comes in. The last 2 were way too dark for me so I had the choice between translucent and banana which is a very yellow tone powder. Obviously :p, i went with translucent. From what I can tell, it's a VERY fine milled powder which makes me excited for this.

It's was 3.99 so once again, not that big of a deal if it ends up being bad.

Next is the Ruby Kisses HD gel liner in Rich Black.

The first time i noticed these products, this was sold out so I'm hoping it's some good s**t. 8D

We'll see~ It was 5.99. Still not bad compared to some others~

Ruby Kisses BIG LASH Mascara.

They had quite a selection for mascaras, and I didn't have THAT much time to choose so I just choose the one that advertisement said was for volume. xD

3.99, dannggg even for cheap products, this stuff adds up though. xD

Last Ruby Kisses Product that I purchased.

24hr Eyeshadow Magic primer. Obviously, right away you might get a little bell in your head saying "rip off of UDPP?" MAN i hope so. xD This come in a hot pink bottle that, although the bottle is shaped a bit different, screams UDPP. It was only 4.99 so if it is a really good dupe, I'll definitely buy again.

I love me my udpp but $18 a pop hurts...xD

I'm a HUGE eyeliner fanatic since eyeliner is always one of the main parts of my make.

This is the NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Black.

3.99. Still doing pretty good~ xD

Make up remover is a MUST for me. I already have my HG one but, I can't constantly use it since it's hard for me to get my hands on. :( So I have to find something that's cheap but still good.

This was 6.99~ Not bad of course.

1.99 each~ They're...no brand? Oh well~

The bands on these lashes are SUPER thin and really flexible which can be both a good and bad thing.

I love them either way~

Con Life~ Expcon 2011

Herro there~
This is a bit late, my vlog on youtube will be even later since after this lovely con, I didn't go home. Instead I went off on a romantic adventure! LOL

okie dokie so~
This most recent con that I had opportunity to go to wassss EXPCON 2011.
It's in St. Augustine, Florida which is about 45 minutes from where I am so I consider it my "home con".

This was it's 4th year so it's still fairly new but it's always really laid back and I think that's one of the qualities that I enjoy the most out of it.

ONWARDSSSS

Friday~
I actually arrived on thursday~ I'm part of staff (I somewhat lied in my first statements about it. It's only laid back if you're just a normal attendee xD)
Anyways, Friday is always the strangest day for me. You're suddenly thrown into con scene, which isn't a bad thing, but it's very shocking. Nothing really goes on during friday so for the most part, I help behind the scenes. Stuff like cutting things, punching things out. Simple things that make the con run.
At expcon, there's a game that can be played, for a small fee, unless you're a level 50+ then it's included. It's called "The Con Ends with You", based loosely off the game, The world ends with you. Each year it has a different theme. This year it was based off of Persona.

I was asked to cosplay a character from Persona 3 and act as a social link and boss battle.
ELIZABETHHH

These pictures were actually taken on saturday but I was dressed as Elizabeth on both friday and saturday for the game.
Friday ended amazingly~ At 9 there was a Prom/Masquerade/Dance thing that started last year. I always enjoy dressing up~ (derpppp)

I went with my boyfriend but for some reason, none of those pictures turned out.

This is the only useable picture I could find. The rest of them were of me dancing strangely. xD

Anywaysssssss. I really REALLY really liked this dress. Normally blue makes me look super orange but this weekend blue decided to be my friend. BLUE WEEKEND. xD

The other girl in the picture is my sister, Saiyora-Saga

Fun night. Though, I do wish they were a tad bit more strict on dress code. OH WELL. Didn't tamper with my night. xD

Saturday~

 CATURDAY. Saturday is the craziest day since it's the most busy. EVERYTHING goes on, on saturday. I was stuck in TCEWY room and the hallway when we were given our tasks.

During the game, the players had to go around to collect cards. To get them, they had to pass a test or sorts. The questions that I came up with were "What color is my underwear?"

Which only one person got. xD

Next was, "What ethnicity am I?"

HA. NO ONE GOT IT. SUCKAAASSS

Along with questions like "How old am I?" Everyone kept saying 20+..hrm..do i look old? D:

I also did tasks like singing the theme to doctor who and asking "what is my favorite british tv show?"

NO ONE GOT IT. WTF?! xD

I would also ask questions like "What is the #555 pokemon?" and give tasks such as "Sing to me the sailor moon theme song"

MUAHAHAHA.

The day was pretty good overall. :3

Sunday~

I, being a singer, host expcon's singing/performance competition. Miki's Magical Musical Extravaganza. Or MMME for short. xD

There's 10 contestants that perform live. It started last year and the trophies get even better! ALL CRYSTAL this year.

My guest judges were Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario, and Ryan, the con chair.

I was actually super sad at the end of the comp though. You have people who like it and people who don't. You can't really help that but it doesn't stop it from taking away from your overall experience. :(

OH WELL~

Expcon has always been close to my heart and I'll continue to go every year!

Latest adventures + Prepping for halloween and con season~

I'm really a boring person.
I don't do anything except sit around and get fat. Haha
No but really...
I've been so busy gearing up for "con season" that I haven't been going out. :/
Instead I sit in my room with my sewing machine and trusty hot glue gun and push out cosplays (or in this case) 1 cosplay for the upcoming con. EXPCON. 8D

I do tutorials..and vlogs..and reviews and stuff..once i actually stop being lazy~

So, for a tutorial idea, because I always like to try them out first, I decided to dress up and this came out of it!

I thought it was kinda cute~
My hair is a lie also. It's a wig. I have tons of those. xD






















I eventually did go out with my friend Dylan to go costume shopping and just to hang out~
There was one costume that I really loved and that was the Fox one with the poofy tail so i HAD to try it on. xD
Also, SCREW THE LIGHTING IN THERE. The rooms were black and they had a huge bright light at the very top. x___X And no mirrors :(
How can we commence in the checking our selves out in the costumes with no mirrors? xD

At another store, I gave into trying on the mari-ho costume. LOL Femme mario.

Lighting was better in this bathroom that smelled skankkkk. xD

We ended up at TGIF. I SWEAR. I always eat so much food. :(

I had the chicken and shirmp..thingy. SO GOOD. but so much food. 

The stupid mall closed at 6 so we just went into books a million...only to find that right outside of booksamillion they had sugar gliders :(

What I do: Make-up

I haven't posted in a while since I took a trip to tally for a week and a few days...
Sooo, I'ma just pick up where i left it~

I think this is going to be my second to last "what I do".

So, it started in mid sophomore year of highschool. I had always been the "ugly duckling" I was never that attractive in middle school and the beginning of high school was no different. This was during the time of the huge myspace reign xD.
I had started getting involved in those vanity train/groups. It started out in just the asian ones but slowly evolved to just...everything. xD
I guess you could say that those stupid things actually did me some good. In order to be in them you have to, obviously, be very attractive or just popular. At that time i was really going for the whole "finding myself: thing. So I really wanted to belong to these groups. And thus, I got more involved in make-up and taking care of my skin.

I used to have...it wasn't bad..but it wasn't good acne. xD

so....yeah. My technique got better as i got more experience...and blah blah
Here's about..70% of my collection. Excuse the mess. xD I really do keep things clean and I have a mini mist bottle of alcohol to spray everything down. >w<

 The first picture is drawers filled with (top containers) lip balms, concealers, glitter, random eyeliners, separate drawers for red/crazy lipsticks and normal ones.

The bottom drawers have palettes, single eyeshadows, blushes and bronzers, lipglosses and random containers. xD

My brushes, foundations (only a few of them) primer stuff...etc.

The above picture is of the blushes/bronzer/palettes I use the most along with powders and random brushes.

My eyelashes, tweezers, scissors, eye lash curlers blah blah. There's lashes in the usamimi tin xD plus two 10 pair boxes underneath the 2 boxed lashes.

The lip stuff I use most often plus make-up remover..and change LOLOL.

This one just shows my body spray...collagen face stuff...hair scissors, moisturizer...gel liners, liquid and pencil. A long with tons of jumbo liners in different colors. 8D

What I do: Cosplaying

YAYE COSPLAY!


So, I first started cosplaying when I was...14 in 9th grade. :D
I had joined an anime club and near the end of the year, the whole club took a trip to Orlando to attend Jacon, which was my first con ever. 8D
Since then, I became addicted.

Cosplaying is a really great creative outlet plus you meet tons of people who have similar interests and likes~ and you get to see some really interesting things.

When you first start out cosplaying , especially at a young age, you tend to go through a few phases.
 At the begginning, it kinda...absorbs your life. You think it's really cool to go in public in cosplay, you say the darnest things! xD And like...you end up following the "annoying" fads such as becoming obsessed with yaoi, screaming in halls...glomping people...Now, I don't have a personal problem with any of this (except glomping...it hurts..badly T.T)

And, unless you're blessed, you go through a "bad cosplay" phase and an "ugly" phase. xD
I did both. My first few cosplays were purchased or "commissioned" and I didn't have a clue what make-up was. xD As I went to more cons, I started to get the hang of things which resulted in me today. 8D

I actually owe cosplay a huge thank you~ Without it...well...I wouldn't have been introduced to make-up, a lot of the friends I have, and...in general..I wouldn't be doing a lot of things that I do now. lol

What I do: Modeling

So, like I said in my previous post, I'm going to be...blogging...about some of my main hobbies and such.
First one up is...MODELING!

So, to me, modeling started up as a hobby from cosplaying and it just grew from there.
I wouldn't say that it's strictly a hobby since there is payment involved so..hobby/job.


Alright~ so what do I do to prep for a photoshoot.
~Depending on when the photoshoot is and what's supplied (like a MUA or stylist) there's always the normal, "making sure you're awake". I do a lot of shoots that are in the morning. So, if one was at..say 8, I would wake up around 5:30 or 6 if I had to do my own make-up~

After that, it's pretty self explanatory! You should ALWAYS be on time or about 5-10 minutes early.

Both of these pictures are kinda.."behind the scenes" ish. One is on the way with the first hair and one is with a wig. :3
